After buying an older, brick ranch-style house, the Owner then saw a home down the street in Rio Vista that we had designed.  He liked it so much that he called on us to design this new home.  He came to us with several floor plans and exterior elevations he liked, and directed us to make it work for his lot.  We had similar challenges as we did in Rio Vista:  taking into account the demolition of the old house, fitting the new, larger house on the smaller lot size, making sure setbacks were adhered to, and making sure we met the lot-coverage requirements all played roles in the final design.

This home has an open-living plan on the first floor with the great room, kitchen, and dining room all interconnected, and all share wonderful views to the Miles River. A master bedroom suite on the first floor also has a full view of the water, as does the master bath soaking tub. Upstairs is a media room above the garage with a powder room for it, three bedrooms and two full baths.  Every bedroom has a unique water view and its own interesting details.

On the exterior we used Hardi siding with Azek trims, Andersen windows, along with brick, Pennsylvania bluestone, and semi-pervious driveway pavers.  The old pine trees that shade the front of the house and the Miles River out the back make this home a quiet oasis on a warm Eastern Shore summer afternoon, or any time of year.
