The Martingham Golf Community outside of downtown St. Michaels is a great place to live.  When the owners found this home, the first order of business was to renovate it and bring it into the new millenium.  In addition, the home needed mechanical updating, more bedroom space on the second floor, a larger master bedroom and bathroom, and a study/office space for working from home.  Finally, the biggest task was to open the house up so rooms would flow from one to another, and provide longer sight lines through the home since the original home was cut up into small boxes with doors between every room. 

We developed a plan for the renovations that not only met all the homeowners' needs, but also drastically changed the exterior and interior look of the home. A couple of small first floor additions helped gain the area needed, and we opened up the inside so the rooms now relate to each other.  The home now has a casual-living feel, while still providing an appropriate level of sophistication. A shed dormer addition on the rear makes space for three bedrooms on the second floor.

The exterior has Certainteed shake siding with Azek trims, all new Andersen windows, new roofing, pre-painted metal front porch roof, blue-stone porches, and a look that is appropriate to the Eastern Shore.  Inside, the home was taken down to the bare studs, so everything is fully renovated.  Oak floors, Cherry cabinets, new drywall, HVAC, electrical wiring, lighting, etc., are all part of the renovation.
