The Owners of this new home outside of Royal Oak came to us with plans that were partially complete.  We took the basic floor plan and concept they had worked through already, and made the necessary corrections, added interest through details, and tailored the home to suit their lifestyle.  We also assisted them in siting the home to take best advantage of the water views, and helped them work through issues like flood zone elevations, FEMA-LOMA applications, buffer setbacks, and forest/planting plans.

The exterior of the home features oversized front and rear porch columns, Azek trims, and Hardi sidings in lap and board-and-batten styles,  and a partially in-ground pool that sits flush in the rear deck.  Because the deck flows from the house out to and around the pool at one single elevation, the pool and deck feel like part of the home.

Inside, we kept the main level very open, with one room flowing into the next without walls.  The Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen and Family Room are all connected, with definition and distinction being provided by changes in ceiling elevations and oversized columns.  The effect is a gallery or loft type of feel.  These rooms all enjoy views of the water through the rear wall which is made up mostly of glass doors.  A bonus room over the garage provides a quiet space for guests, and the bedrooms on the second floor all enjoy wonderful views of either the water or the forest.
